I graduated from the University at Albany. Throughout my educational career at UA, I took every teaching job I found. I spent a year each with Junior Achievement and AmeriCorps. Towards the end of my studies, I tutored others for the ACTs and SATs. I've now spent over a decade teaching ACT and SAT prep, including four years at a Title One school in Albany with a 100% passing rate in biology. I believe every student can succeed if given the right tools. Aside from ACT and SAT test prep, I've taught Earth science, algebra, physics, and other topics with great success. When teaching test prep, I work to help students build skills and strategies that they wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity for. These skills are invaluable to their success, not only on academic exams but in life. As a tutor, I believe that students have unique learning needs that must be met for optimal learning efficiency. I use teaching methods that are suited to the student's learning style, right down to the explanation's phrasing. I strive to motivate students to work hard while making learning fun and relevant. Outside of tutoring, I spend time with my dogs, hiking and watching football.
